May Meeting
Please join us Friday, May 23rd at the City of Austin PDC to hear Dr. Naveen Sudharsan with UT Austin, and Angela Johnson, PE, PH.D, City Engineer for the City of Austin, speak on the City of Austin's Cool Seal Pavement Pilot Program.
CoolSeal is an ultra-high-performance, water-based, asphalt emulsion coat designed to achieve lower asphalt pavement surface temperatures. It is used to help combat urban heat island effect, which occurs when urban areas experience higher temperatures than surrounding areas due to increased concentration of pavement, buildings, and other surfaces that absorb and retain heat.

CASITE & WTS Bike & Brunch
We will explore the City of Round Rock's recently completed Heritage Trail West project, which is a component of the regional Brushy Creek Trail. Our tour will be led by Katie Baker, PLA, CPRP, a Park Development Manager with the City's Parks and Recreation department, who championed the project. This tour will feature a biking group led by Katie at the front, followed by a walking group. This is a great opportunity to network with members from other organizations, exercise, explore new multimodal infrastructure, and start your weekend with some great food.
